Mallorca Property ( Majorca )

Many Brits and Germans have chosen to purchase Property in Mallorca / Majorca for retirement or for a holiday home. It is within easy reach of both countries with very cheap flights.

On the west side of the island is Magaluf which is like a mini England. The majority of British holiday makers stay in Magaluf and most that I have spoken to don't know about the beauty of the rest of Mallorca as they usually confine themselves to the town.
The same goes for the German holiday makers, many of them stay in Arenal for the whole period of their holiday. Arenal is on the south side of the island just east of Palma which is the main city.
Palma is a lovely place to live with many comfortable apartments for sale, a nice place is close the cathedral or on the Paseo de Maritimo. I rented an apartment there for a while with great views over the bay of Palma and the cathedral which was a great sight when lit up at night.
If you decide to purchase a property in Mallorca / Majorca it is easy to rent it out when you are not there, it will help to pay off the mortgage. I rented a 3 bedroom apartment in Palma for 1 year and sub rented 2 rooms to passing Captains and Stewardesses and it paid for my whole rent which in the end I lived for free for a year.
I would recommend the following places to purchase property in Mallorca:
Palma central and old town, Cala Major, Puerto Portals, Santa Ponsa, Alaro, Pollensa and Alcudia.
My favorite is Alaro which is in the middle of the island, very peaceful and is host 2 able top mountains with a monastery on top and a hidden cave that not many people know about.

Mallorca Luxury hotels / Majorca

A holiday in Mallorca can be so nice when you get out into the rural countryside away from the city life.
There are many hikes you can go on from towns such as Alaro, Selva, Deia and Valdemossa.
Its a good feeling to relax in the pool and have an amazing mountain view while the sun rises or sets.
One of my favourite towns is Alaro, I used to love to wake up to the mountain view and run donw the garden path and bounce on the trampoline and somersault into the pool. I often took bike rides to some of the surrounding villages such as Binnisalem and sometimes up to Selva.
My family came on holiday and I found a small gem of a getway hotel resort called Finca Es Castell for them. The sounds of nature were so nice especially the tinkling of the sheeps bells in the morning. The luxury hotel is located in the Sierra de Tramuntana Mountains in North East of Mallorca.
Its close to
the village of Caimari, where agriculture and tourism co exist, the hotel is surrounded by fig, olive, orange, lemon, almond trees.




To get there you take a road from Binibona past fields of olive trees where you can see the hotel,

with a great view of the Tramuntana mountains behind the hotel.

The Getway luxury hotel is a fourty minute drive from the airport.
Inca, famous for its leather, textiles and porcelain is just ten minutes away.

The best beaches in Mallorca and golf courses are a 20 mins away.
